Plastic Chrome Lug Nut Covers

Hello all... I'm in the market to waste some money (oops, I mean purchase) some of those plastic chrome lug nut covers. When looking on Amazon, most of the ones I see are 33mm. When I measure my nuts, I come up with 1 1/4" across (lug nuts that is). 33mm equals 1.29 inches (approx). Are they sized a little large? Or, should I keep looking for actual 1 1/4" sizes?

We can't answer for chrome on plastic as we have polished stainless steel. The ID nut size is larger than OD nuts with dimples on the ID nut cover for snug fit.

If you have hub pilot wheels (a nut and washer holding the wheel on ) they are the 33MM they don't work on stud pilot wheels,post a picture if you don't know what you have and the guys can tell you MCI can have either

Off the subject a little, this caught a loose nut for me, on my bus...

Not to hijak the thread as I am inquiring about stainless covers, but there is quite a price difference from online sites that claim to be stainless, from about $1 each to almost $5.  How do you know what you are getting?

The .89 cent ones I buy at Truck Pro rust quickly.  I need to upgrade.

When buying, avoid any listed in mm. They are for newer hub piloted systems. Old stud mounted wheels lug nut covers will be always listed in inches.

Buy them from United Pacific, Raneys, or 4 State Trucks. Then you will get ss if in description, or plastic. OR go to a large truck stop. However, theirs most likely will rust over time.

Alcoa has nice nut covers but they plastic and they do screw on so you do not loose the nut all the time and no need for silicone on the nut I see people use to keep the nut cover from flying off,if you want to go 1st class there is always the Kane covers

If you're buying on line contact the seller and stipulate solid stainless steel. If walking into a big truck parts a magnet is your friend. If it's quality SS a magnet won't attract it.

I doubt you will find lug nut covers made of good quality Stainless steel,the ones that rust usually are chrome

Know what ya mean about Chrome on steel. Pretty when it's new but won't last is why we replaced all our simulators & nut cover quite a long time ago. Purchased all polished SS from Big Truck parts in Ocala FL & still looks like the day we bought it. Don't know if they're still manufactured as pure quality is getting harder to source out these days.

Looks like United Pacific manufactures the right one.  10080 1.5"x2" seems to be the number.  A Google search of that number shows them available at many different places.  I don't know my nut size and don't have my micrometer with me, so this will have to wait until I return to Texas in the fall.

Most of their stuff is made in China or Taiwan if not all,I bought a set of LED headlights for my CC from United in CA

I had a bad side marker lamp on the side right behind entrance door on our 4905. Couldn't find one, so found nice ones from United Pacific. When I received them, they were beautiful. Very nice chrome job and quality innards. Unfortunately they were slightly larger and protective shield wouldnt quite fit over it. Decided to as a last ditch effort, called Luke. As usual, he had new oem one. I haven't used those lamps yet, but too nice not to find a use.

Impressed that they list those lug nut covers as being 303 stainless.

303 stainless steel will rust terrible stuff to use for marine or high humdity 304 is better,303 has so much iron content you can weld it with a stick welder using a common welding rod
