Resistance is futile! Resistor question
« on: January 28, 2025, 12:05:54 PM »
Good afternoon bus folks!,

I  believe I have a resistor which has failed in my rear taillight module.  I have power going into the resistor, but not out.  Picture of the module is shown below.

I'm having trouble locating a replacement as I'm not finding that identification number on the Internet.

Can someone with greater knowledge of what is required please advise?  OK, I have very little knowledge here.  :)

The characters stamped on the resistor are :   25W50RF

It is inline to the two LED brake light "squares".   All other brake lights work, and tow vehicle brake lights work as well.

Thank you all!, Phil

Best guess, it's a 50 ohm 25 watt resistor, borne out by a google search. Plenty of good wirewound candidates out there.

Jim
I saw it on the Internet. It MUST be true...

Thanks very much Jim.  With my lack of experience I thought I'd better check my "thoughts".

With best regards, Phil
