Hunting for a particular 4104
« on: September 04, 2025, 04:27:39 PM »
I am trying to locate a GMC 4104 bus conversion done by my grandfather in the 1970s and was hoping maybe someone had run across it.  It was purchased by Walter Bates from Salem, OR sometime in the early 70's from a lot specializing in retired Greyhound buses in El Segundo, CA.  He added a metallic green stripe and roof, bathtub, and central vacuum.  Repair work was performed by Ken Takayama at Hammond Bus Lines in Salem.  It was sold to someone in Keizer OR in the early 80's.  I don't have a license or vin to search from and DMV won't release any information from a name search.

I know a busnut in Keiser OR that owned a 4104 and sold it. His name is Chazmon.

Hi had dual roof mounted AC, fridge vent on the drivers side, and the extra window openings were covered with matching aluminum cut to fit the holes.

So the one in the photos is not the bus you're referring to?
