Oil pan gasket?

My series 50 seems to be seeping oil around the oil pan gasket, Has any one changed one of these? Do I need to change the rubber bushings on the bolts? I didn't try tightening them, is that a option? Someone told me that the bushings hold the pan tight and do get weak and then leak

Yep change the gasket and the isolators assemblies ,they are a little pricey. I don't think you can buy just the isolators from DD they come with the bolt,spacer and isolator as a assembly. You could check with the after market people for isolators only

Thanks Cliff, I'll call and see how much they are, I need to change oil so I figured that would be a good time to fix it. Do they get torqued?

I just called my local DD dealer (Penn Detroit) and the gasket is $37.98 and the isolators are $5.43 each, must not get the bolt with them. Not to bad so i have them ordered.

That is not bad a few years ago the gasket was a 100 bucks and the isolator assemblies were 20 bucks each

I would try tightening them first.  This may just solve your problem.  These gaskets can also be re-used if you clean them up.  New is always better of course.

Those have spacers or bottoming bolts you can only tighten the bolts to a certain point,I had to do my 12.7 series 60 last year with a new gasket and isolators to stop a drip lol the gasket grows when you try and clean one

Does the gasket fit in a groove or is it just a flat gasket?

Fits in a grove with little tits on it to hold it in place on the newer pans ? is your pan plastic

I think it's some kind of Plastic or fiberglass by the sound of it when I tap on the side of it.

Dang leaky 50 series.... Might as well have the two cycle. At least  they don't sound like a bucket of bolts.😊 Make sure to use a torque wrench when tightening bolts.

I believe the pan on my early Series 50 is cast aluminum.

Just confirmed tonight that I do have a cast aluminium pan. Anybody know the torque specs for the pan bolts?
