Looking for a parts bus

Anyway the 1984 Eagle on the BCM classifieds for $6k in Rossville GA.  Anyone know anything about it?  Not much description and it is missing some parts (back wheel) and no wipers. 

For $6k if I could get it home I would have plenty of parts.

David 6k is way to much to pay for a parts bus,you pay scrap prices 1k to 2 k and sometimes you lose money on those

add that up and maybe you should start toying with the idea of selling yours and move up to a newer conversion, especially as the prices are dropping.

I would hate to part with mine.  It has been so reliable for 20 years, and I know it so well that it's almost a body extension of me
I am just concerned that Eagle parts are getting a bit hard to locate.

Eagle parts are not hard to find yet they will be around for a long time,and Eagle used a lot of off the shelf parts too

I wouldn’t shell out 6 grand on a parts bus quite yet... I’m sure there’s plenty to be had cheaper than that.

what about torsilastics and drop boxes, marker lenses...just that value of yours and how much you get ibto one for parts, including shipping, starts adding up. Even Cliff moved on albeit to the darker side. lol As you age, that work takes more time and more tiring and life gets shorter.

I found one through an online auction that I got for $1100. Someone had previously bought it, but backed out because they could not start it. I estimated that the parts I saw in pictures easily justified the $1100, like the bumper corners, torsilastics, etc. It would not start because the battery cables were severely corroded. I replaced those, primed the fuel, and got it going. I drove it home because I am too cheap to do any towing. It turned out that the engine is in pretty good shape. Do searches of online auctions, craigslist, etc. Maybe even Facebook Marketplace (if you are desperate), but start low and only go up when you see something of value. With today's scrap prices, $6000 would be crazy.

Walter or anyone parting out an Eagle. If it has a clutch I am interested in both cylinders in the air clutch assist . Correction one slave cylinder and one control valve.

That bus at Rossville, GA is at the former Choo-Choo garage and trust me Joel knows how much work is required to make any $ scrapping any bus, but yes they have scrapped Eagles in the past.
I'd say you can probably get it for a third or less!

I'm not sure but I do know they were having trouble with the land owner a few yrs back.
As I understood it Mr. Bowen sold the surrounding land with a clause that he was able to keep and run Choo-Choo as long as he wished/was able. But I know a few yrs back he had some serious health problems and the land owner was making them clean up all the non-running buses from the property. Jay McKinight had contacted me for help in getting a couple of his buses moved from there to an inside storage warehouse he'd acquired. I hadn't heard anything since then. But my guess is that Mr. Bowen has passed and the living estate lease has expired, but that is only a guess! (unless Mr. Bowen found a way to keep it open and running for Joel's benefit)
Like I said I'm not sure what's going on down there as I hadn't talked to anyone from there for sometime!
