« on: February 24, 2024, 07:04:02 PM »
Van is laid up in the hospital in Bullhead City, AZ. He's sleeping comfortably but no other info is available. My best wishes to Van for a quick recovery and to Cheryl to get Van back to the bus, tom...

Clifford do you know if Van is on a ventilator? He has COPD like me  Hope it isn't the Covid variant that is going around up here. It is nasty.

Dave I don't know for sure, but the way Cheryl describes it he on a ventilator. Vân has a tough go for the past year with breathing, weight loss and panic attacks .I feel for Cheryl she has washed the walls and ceiling in the bus 3 or 4 times to get rid of any trace of nicotine

Van has had a fluid or some kind of Coagulent in his lungs, that the doctor has had a hard time figuring out for some time. It sounds like that has gotten worse. He has been fighting with the insurance, I see the hospital as a good way to analyze the problem, insurance was fighting...

Insurance sucks they have Medicare Advantage and Humna, problem is like I delt with for 6 years if Medicare will not cover the problem Humna will not pay either, our medical system for seniors has been out of control since 2010 .I spoke with Van this morning for awhile till the nurse came in and stopped it , he is hanging in there the best he can

On the 2nd day of January, I lost my wife to cancer after an 8 month battle,,total bill 568K..  My Humana advantage plan ( PPO) covered all but my "out of network" expenses..  My exposure was only $9700...  I'll take that deal anytime..>>>Dan

My point is you have paid into it all your working life you shouldn't owe anything, if you are on Medicaid or a illegal it wouldn't have cost you a nickel. I paid my share of the 9 to $12,000.00 bills over the past 7 years and it sucks Dan everything has to be pre approved .If it wasn't for my FMCA they would have stuck me for 20 grand for my part of Sonja's Medivac flight to Vegas ,I don't get their out of network BS either it is another way to get more money from people that need help

I can appreciate that Cliff,, When my wife had to be carried to St. George,(47miles) the bill was $14700.00... They had billed it using a code that was wrong,, the code was for a helicopter instead of the  ambulance that was used..  You gotta be watching all the time..>>>Dan
