Do you have a vehicle that you want to tow behind your RV but is not set up to be towed wheels down?  I had the same problem with my Lexus SUV.   Then I installed a Superior Driveline Driveshaft Disconnect and I have since towed it over 50,000 miles with no problem.

I'm lucky enough to have a fiat and a jeep Comanche 4X. The fiat gets 40mpg and is an Abarth under 3000lbs. The Comanche is a true 4X for those more adventurous trips...

If you have 4x4 with manual transfer box no need for the disconect. We tow our 1 ton 4x4 dually Sierra with the transfer box in neutral. Thanks for the help yesterday Tom

We just picked up a 2006 Jeep Liberty for its size and easy flat towing. The 4x4 transfer case goes in neutral and the automatic transmission in park, and away you go.

Not one of those unfortunately, although I do own a 69 XKE OTS, the x type was the cheap looking AWD jag based on the ford platform. I used it as a winter car in the Midwest, made it really dependable. Spent almost its value in parts. It’s not worth me selling now due to its very low value. It’s no bmw or mercedes but a fraction of the cost and a car I know really well. Hence I thought about adapting it. My ram 2500 cummins is outstanding but weighs over 7000 lbs!

Later this month at our annual Crown bus gathering I may be looking at a VW Rabbit diesel manual pickup truck as a possible toad for my bus.   They're small and light so it could be ideal, especially as my bus has only 277 HP.   Getting well over 40 MPG is another plus point.   My car still has plenty of good life left in it, but it cannot be towed at all.

Normally I pull a 05 cummins dodge ram 4 x 4, put the T case into neutral. No problems. Done thousands of miles with my blue ox patriot system, it’s just a lot for my poor little mc5 to pull and you can feel it struggle up hills. Hence I was thinking of adapting the jaguar x type (shitty kitty)

    Let's not forget about the REMCO driveline disconnect. For 20years I towed a full sized GMC 'Jimmy' automatic (same as the Chevy Blazer), it was a diesel and a dog. The last 10 years have been towing a jeep so the unit sits in a box in storage. The REMCO worked flawlessly. It engaged and disengaged with a cable from the drivers seat. Might use it again someday,...Cheers.

Phil, I put the vehicle in Neutral, grab the knob (like a choke cable) down by the console near my right leg, and pull the cable, and the driveshaft is disconnected. When I get to my destination, I reverse the procedure and re-connect the drive shaft the same way. Each procedure takes about 15 seconds...if that.
